On V8 Vantage Sportshift transmissions, the ASM (Automated Sequential Manual) hydraulic system requires attention – the rubber feed and return pipes from the hydraulic reservoir perish over time and can fracture under pressure, disabling the gearbox.

The 5.9-litre V12 fitted to DB9, DBS, and Rapide models commonly triggers check engine lights for misfire codes and sensor faults, particularly when heat-soaked after spirited driving. Many of these are transient glitches, but we diagnose properly to distinguish between genuine faults and heat-related sensor anomalies. We also address the bi-metallic corrosion issue at the transmission cooler pipe interface found on 2005-2006 production vehicles.

Aston Martins are known for electrical complexity. Common issues include the Linn premium audio system malfunctioning and requiring replacement, faulty tyre pressure monitoring sensors, and door lock actuator failures. The double-locking feature on 2010-2016 models (DB9, DBS, Vantage, Rapide, Vanquish, Virage) can malfunction, preventing doors from being opened from inside – we perform the software reprogramming to disable this feature as per the manufacturer recall.

The electronic control module for driver and passenger seat heaters on 2006-2014 DB9, Vantage, DBS, and Virage models can fail, causing seat heaters to remain on and potentially overheat. We install the additional safety module that interrupts power to the heaters if the control module fails, as specified in the manufacturer service bulletin.

V8 Vantage and DB9 models from 2005-2017 commonly develop moisture ingress in the tail light assemblies. This is a design issue rather than a manufacturing defect. Water accumulation eventually damages the LED circuit boards, leading to tail light failure. We can source replacement units and advise on preventive sealing options.

The Mercedes-AMG M177 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 used in DB11 V8 and current Vantage models can develop oil leaks around valve covers, oil filter housing, and oil cooler connections. Turbocharger wastegate malfunctions causing boost leaks are also known issues. Our AMG diagnostic capability allows us to address these faults efficiently.
